XY-Type Floating Seal: The XY-type floating seal is a compact mechanical face seal, also known as a double-cone floating seal, designed for harsh operating conditions in construction machinery, mining equipment, and other heavy-duty applications. It prevents internal lubricant leakage while blocking external contaminants such as mud, water, and abrasive particles, protecting bearings and drive components. Each seal consists of a pair of symmetrical metal floating seal rings and two elastic rubber rings (or O-rings). Floating Seal Rings: The core components are typically made of high-hardness chromium-molybdenum alloy cast iron. The sealing faces are precision-ground to achieve excellent flatness and surface finish. Rubber Rings: Provide preload to keep the two metal sealing faces tightly engaged while compensating for installation tolerances and face wear. Key Features: Excellent wear, contamination, impact, and vibration resistance; automatic compensation for face wear; long service life and high reliability; compact structure, easy installation and maintenance, and relatively low shaft machining requirements. Working Principle: The tapered sealing housing generates radial pressure on the rubber rings, whose axial force presses the precision sealing faces of the two floating rings together. During operation, the two rings rotate relative to each other, forming an extremely thin oil film between the sealing faces for dynamic sealing.
